God is in the details

It’s interesting, even sexy, to talk about strategy. “What do you do?” > “I make strategies” > “Wow.” Strategies are long term, packaged in a neat document, and usually quite abstract, making it easy to commit to. [And walk away from.]
What many people forget (or want to forget), is that a strategy is the start of something. It’s how you get from 0 to your objective. But without the follow-up, it’s worthless, hollow. Just another neat document ready for a drawer.
To deliver a great strategy takes a helluva lot more. It means rolling up your sleeves and getting sh#t done.
So it can come as no surprise that we believe the people who conceive the strategy should be involved and committed to the execution side of the strategy as well. Because that is the way to to get the strategy done. And feel the glory of a great strategy.
